Lee however, does have some strong points (enthusiasm in the stands, nice marching style) and they also have a lot of weak points (over playing, no articulation and weak balance) that they need to work on. Listening to your music your arrangements are mostly whole and half notes with very little runs and difficult concepts. You seem to focus on playing loud and dancing hard. Let me ask you this, Why doesnt Lee ever play in concert pieces or marches in any of there performances? When you talk about a true representation of duval one must credit Raines high and Ribault high. These two programs have consistently been great over the years starting in 1965 when Dr. Julian E. White created the band program at Raines. Lee has just began to gain recognition in recent years. Infact Lee high school was historically all white and marched a corps style band program until the mid to late 90s when Jenkins left paxon and arrived at Lee. Yes the programs at raines and ribault have faced some challenges in the last past few years but if you attend any event in the south people are more likely to recognize Raines or Ribault then Lee high school. Why? because greatness is not achieved in just a few years a program has to have a historical legacy. Even when you talk about Jackson high from may of 1971 to june of 1991 they were another great contender under mr. freddie mcclain. It is evident that Jackson is making a lot of programs nervous now, especially since you would waist your time consistently placing negative comments about them over the internet. Its obvious that lee has something to prove. Please be like raines, ribault and jackson and let your performances speak for itself. Furthermore, the performances and achievements Lee's band list on there myspace page consist of activities Raines, Ribault and jackson have been apart of since the late 60's. thanks for your time.
