Most of the old stuff that they have sounds pretty good...I have always like their neck because it is theirs. I like Howard's arrangment of neck too, its funky and groovy. Of course that beast that Southern produces as well, which has been unfortunately copied in some way by a few other schools. I appreciate the arrangements of "Neck" that are not knock offs of another school's arrangement because the song is funky anyway... Their downfall is when they try to over blow and stuff and sound bad. Its not "hating" when you make general observations. If someone gets sensative that's their problem. The reason Gram started overblowing is because bands were saying Grambling aint blowing, but they sound good. Sooooo GSU started cranking........and thus............Time to go back to the original sound GRAM.
